Creative Experience -7D 6N


A route where you will spend time learning indigenous craft and experience beautiful nature spots waterfall Huacamaillo and the cacao island. You will be staying at an ecological artist retreat ‘Sachaqa Centro De Arte’ in San Roque and ‘Centro Cultural Joicy V Bartra’ a hotel ran by a sculptor in Chazuta.






Day 1 –

  • Jouney to San Roque De Cumbaza 
  • Meal in the village, vegetarian option 
  • Overnight stay at Sachaqa Centro De Arte


Day 2 –San Roque De Cumbaza – basket weaving and Coffee Experience

  • Self-service - breakfast at Sachaqa ( coffee, bread, fruit and yogurt) 
  • Learn how to make a basket 
  • Walk around the village of San Roque De Cumbaza, swim in the river 
  • Lunch in the village 
  • ‘Agroindustria Warmi’ where you can learn how they produce chocolate and coffee from the bean to the final product. 
  • Meal at Sachaqa 
  • Overnight stay Sachaqa Centro De Arte. 

Day 3 – San Roque De Cumbaza – Ceramics, home of Petrona

  • Self-service - breakfast at Sachaqa ( coffee, bread, fruit and yogurt) 
  • Visit Petrona (Quechua Lamista artisan) an hour walk to a nearby indigenous village called Chinchiwi. You can then learn how to make a simple ceramic bowl shape. We can then collect natural pigments on the way back. 
  • Meal in the village 
  • Trina Brammah can teach you what she has learnt about painting with naturally found pigments. 
  • Overnight stay Sachaqa Centro De Arte. 




Day 4 – San Roque De Cumbaza – waterfall Huacamaillo

  • Self-service - breakfast at Sachaqa ( coffee, bread, fruit and yogurt) 
  • Visit waterfall Huacamallio in San Antonio about an hour hike, crossing the river about three times along the way, picnic by the river 
  • Meal in the village 
  • Overnight stay Sachaqa Centro De Arte. 

Day 5 – Chazuta – Chocolate Route - Journey by boat

  • Breakfast in Tarapoto ‘Casa De Palos' 
  • 1 hour drive to Chazuta, journey by boat to an island that produces 6 hectors of cacao trees, harvest the plants and learn about the fermentation process. 
  • Lunch ‘Rio Bosque Magico’ 
  • Chocolate route, learn how to make the most amazing energetic chocolate 
  • Overnight stay in Chazuta 


Day 6 – Chazuta – ecological paper and ceramics

  • Learn how to make paper from banana and coconut tree 
  • Lunch 
  • Ceramics workshop, make a simple bowl shape 
  • Journey back to Tarapoto overnight stay at ‘Casa De Palos’ 

Day 7 – Lamas – Indigenous quarters Wayku - chumbe weaving

  • Breakfast ‘Casa De Palos’ 
  • journey to Lamas 
  • Visit the Castle of Lamas 
  • Walk into native neighbourhood Wayku, Course in chumbe weaving 
  • Lunch 
  • Journey back to Tarapoto end of your trip
